Looking for more original pieces? I gotchu bew

Going to the mall just isn't enough. Between H&M's mass production of the same texture and patterns that are reused constantly or Forever 21's inability to diversify their selection, where else can one buy clothes? Online and social network boutiques have bombarded our lives, and it's safe to say they might be here to stay. Here are few boutiques and websites that have caught my eye within the last year. Who knows, maybe they'll catch yours too.

-Sorella Boutique is based in the heart of Los Angeles and ran by Heather Sanders. Often associated with Tyga's Last King's crew, this boutique has made its way to being extremely recognized outside of the Golden State. Being sported by local Bay Area celebrities and even social network phenomenons, you can see Sanders' dream come to life one piece at a time.

-The website stays true to its name with its sinister-like appeal. The only word to come to mind with this website is NINETIES! Hot Topic meets Topshop is how I would describe this collection. Cher from Clueless meets Debbie from The Wild Thornberry's! Don't not visit this site, despite it being a tad pricey, the quality of the product looks worth the buck!

-As of now, my favorite accessory place to shop. Everything from knuckle rings, anklets, and chokers. Not to mention the abundant amount of sunglasses (OH MY GOD), you do not want to sleep on this urban boutique. Cali based as well, Rihanna Cooper the designer of Vida Kush collaborates ideas from Ancient Egyptians, Native Americans, and Indian cultures to create quality original pieces. VIDA KUSH VIDA KUSH VIDA KUSH! This electrifying phrase translates as "Live Gold" when broken down from it's Spanish and Egyptian roots.

As the commencement of blazin summer nights and the arrival of amber stained leaves fall upon us, you may be questioning what to wear. Is being a "trill" fashionista still the wave? Or maybe there's still hope on Hipster Island? These are a few helpful tips on what Fall 2013 will consist of.

2 Years 2 Late?

It's been a very long time since I've used blogger, and that's my fault. Becoming acquainted with new blogging sites and other alternatives to social media, I slowly progressed away. But enough of that, I'm back and this time I'm not leaving. Recently, I was face to face with a life changing decision. Potentially, I was not going to be able to finish my education this year. In respect to that, there were roadblocks (called loans) on my road to collegiate success that were making it difficult to actually do much of anything. Between multiple prayers and phone calls to the Bursar office like clock-work, things began to luck up. From this experience, my grind has enhanced and all the little things that I used to pay attention to, don't even matter anymore. How I became so lost in an instant, I will never know. But how I recovered? I'll never forget. Writing is the only thing I know how to do, and how to do well. Realizing that I potentially wouldn't be able to do that anymore, ignited a feeling in me I haven't felt since my senior year of high school. That feeling is commonly known as ambition. And I pray to God, I never lose that feeling again. That's the same feeling that raised and nurtured my writing when no one and nothing else could. That feeling is the same feeling that made me promise myself to never sell short, let alone sell out. That feeling is the same feeling that created an infinite appetite for all things written and never told.

VACCANCY.COM--BLOG SCHOLARSHIP

Recently, I've moved from Baltimore to York on a voyage most young adults set sail on in their late teens. Yes, I'm talking about the college experience. I've heard stories about college, but nothing amounted to what I've been going through for the past month. My campus is a commuter campus and therefore means there aren't any dorms available. I unfortunately failed my license test and therefore do not own a car. So now I was faced with two problems; where was I going to live and how was I going to get to and from school? Searching for an apartment was not an easy task, being bombarded with too much information to grasp I began to panic. I was recommended to search on http://www.vacancy.com to look for a suitable apartment. Once I visited the website all my questions had been answered, an affordable apartment with accessories and was in walking distance of my campus! Can you say IDEAL?! So excited and full of anxiousness to live in this nice cozy apartment that I can call my own. A sense of independence, freedom, and maturity was instantly obtained when my family and I went to visit the apartment. I had the ability to be alone and socialize whenever I wanted to. The appliances were immaculate, I just can't wait to move out of my family members home and into one I can call my own!

Strand by Strand

"One mans hell is another mans heaven . ."

I'm so emotional and stressed, and its as if nobody can relate to the way I'm feeling. In the next 14 days I'll be shipping out on a new life away from everything I once knew before. The bickering and arguing is exhausting, especially when it's over the smallest shit. With each new argument I creep more and more out the doorway, with each cherishable moment and I find myself walking back into the house. I wake up with new feelings every morning, and a old emotions every night. Constantly battling my feelings with my actions, I act angry when I'm feeling nervous and cry hysterically when I'm excited. This is such an extremely new adjustment I'm going through.. and I'm jst trying to get the best fit.

If Love Had a Face

If Love Had a Face, it'd be you
Kisses from the sun cant even amount to
A gift from God, and a blessing so true
If Love Had a Face, it'd be you

Fights with no purpose, we all go mute
Rather go breathless than to argue or dispute
To me you're like the air that roams through a flute
If Love Had a Face, it'd be you

Doing everything old, acting like it's new
A feeling so pure it's obtained by just a few
There's no a vein your love hasn't seeped through
If Love Had a Face, it'd be you . . <3

and tad of my soul into this poem..

Hits The Fan

PART ONE Im a lot different from people in my age group. Most people can't see where their life is going within the next ten days, let alone the next years. I have a game plan that I've been creating and editing for as long as I can remember. I made it my goal to NEVER be like those I've grown around and to never blame my misfortunes on my environment. I've never been the type to point fingers because something in MY life didn't go right. Most of the time I blame myself even for the events that could not have been avoided. The amount of stress I put on myself probably isn't appropriate, but I feel as though I work and accomplish so much more when under stress..which is why I always keep the stress level high. It really annoys me when someone who's suppose to be a support factor isn't there. Always have something to say and someone to say it to, but doesn't know what the hell they're talking about. PART TWO I have 2 options for my life; To pursue my dream and become an amazing magazine journalist or settle for the "Average-Joe" lifestyle.. Getting a 9-5 job, coming home to a great family, then getting up the next morning to do it all over again. It's nothing wrong with that life, but I can't imagine myself living that way. I need the fast pace life the city has to offer, going to red-carpet events so I can cover the story the next day is more my speed. But what am I giving up? Is my potential family more important than my potential success? This is a constant battle I'm being faced with now, and that I'm probably going to be faced with as I get older. When does marriage and children come into play when I'm plane hopping from city to city to fulfill my job title? Guess the answer to all my questions will be answered sooner or later..

Coin Flip

Day after day we're constantly given the chance to make good and/or bad decisions. Some of us choose what we believe is right, while other choose what's wrong on purpose. Flipping the coin of life, sometimes we get heads and other times we get tails. When people aim for tails, it can be assumed they want attention. More than likely they want POSITIVE attention from NEGATIVE actions. What comes off as entertaining to some, hurts others. Imaturity is the leading cause in bad decision making. Some of us aren't mature enough to understand that getting a quick laugh out of our peers can come with grave consequences. People often don't think outside of their shallow box, their thoughts don't get much deeper than "Maybe if I make this joke or maybe if I pretend to be tough people will think Im cool?" That's all people want; acceptance. But WHY ?! Why is the acceptance of others soo important? You're that ashamed of who you are that you have to manipulate a Lie that you call "life" in order to feel comfortable? Insecurities roam that deep in your soul, that the clothes you buy and the $200 dollar shoes you were so pressed to get, cant hide who YOU are so stop trying. Let people see you for who you really are. You're not this person that's a "player" nor the type to fail classes, so WHY are you portraying actions that don't match your personality? The people you're soo keen on impressing will eventually fade away. You see, as jokes get old so do we. The same ol' "LOL" moments you once use to share with the "cool" ppl eventually aren't funny anymore. So then where does that leave you? Ask yourself, how do you want to be remembered..as the follow or the leader?

Ohh That's Cool

The rate of teen smoking has become astronomical within the past year. It's like everywhere look, I either see someone about to skip class to get high, or people posting pictures of them with smoke blowing out their mouth. I'm not judging, nor do I care what people do with their lives...But It's annoying when I see people who have been athletes all their lives or honor roll students getting kicked off teams and failing because they wanna be "cool" and smoke. This post isn't directed at one particular person nor one specific group...If you're taking this to heart, then maybe you need to rethink the value of your actions. People drink, people smoke...I as well as the rest of the world is well aware of this..That's fine, I can careless. The concern comes into play when people start turning into things they aren't. Putting on a "front" for others so that they are still considered "cool." Participating in events they wouldn't of participated in a year ago, becoming a person they would be ashamed of it they looked at themselves from a different perspective. It seems as though sudden music popularity is increasing this phenomenon, artist such as Wiz Khalifa and Yo Gotti who praise the art of smoking are affecting the way of life for many young adults who want to follow and emulate these celebrities. If you want to smoke, who am I to stop or judge you? But do it because you want to, not because you want accreditation from your peers. Not because you want "clout." Be yourself, Be your own person, it's not illegal. .

Healthy vs. NON-Healthy

Now, I understand that it's no one's business what happens between you and your significant other. But there's a difference between a healthy and NON-Healthy relationship...Teen domestic violence is at its highest peek ever and yet it's going ignored. Young girls and guys are being harmed, threaten, and even killed by someone they thought they "loved" and "trusted." And domestic violence is not only physical. It can be verbal or mental abuse. So please, always remember love does not hurt. .

Ambitous?

Ever wanted something soo bad you'd do just about anything to get it? My desire to be a fashion journalist has only reached the beginning of its peak. It's almost turned into a desperate obsession. I'm in love with the art of journalism. Everything about it, the pattern of forming words together, or the anticipation received from interviewing someone. People say my chances are one in a million, but that's a chance I'm willing to take. Even willing to fail in attempt to reaching my goal, but I'll NEVER stop. My name WILL be on the staff list of Teen Vogue, Vogue, or Elle Magazine. Some people dream and wait for something to happen, I dream and create my destiny. I wont be in the shadow and allow someone else to live the life that was destined for me. I'm not saying it will be easy, I'm not even saying it will happen anytime soon. But it WILL happen.

Light, Dark, Does it matter?

Being a minority we already have to struggle with the race to keep up with our white counterparts. But does anyone realize the race we have to keep up with ourselves among our own people? Dark Skin Blacks and Light Skin Blacks have been at a constant battle dating back to the slave age. It's said light skin blacks were treated better because their fair skin made them closer to the masters blood which in all gave them better opportunities and better means of life. With light skin blacks having the interpertation that they were better then there other slave peers, an attitude of cockiness and arrogance grew. For years, the wide spread attitude was passed on to generation and generation. The masters continued to favor lighter skin blacks allowing them to live in the same homes as themselves and family even sometimes eating at the dinner table with the family. Darker skin blacks struggling to keep food on the table for large families let alone get any food for themselves began to strike back. And soon an ongoing war between lights and darks were ignited. Ever heard the term "you have good hair?" Well what does tht mean. Your hair is less coarse and easier to comb? Since when was hair that was easy to maintain deemed as "good" hair? Girls go out there way to purchase false hair, varying from 8 inches to 20 inches ! And why? Because they want to be "prettier" but when did having short hair make you ugly? Is it because WHITE people generally have long hair, and in this society that is ran by WHITE people that is what's consider beauty? How dare someone depict beauty off stereotypical assets. I saw the most demeaning tweet about a week ago that said something on the lines "I dont like my girls dark skin, I like them clean skin" If those aren't the exact words, I apologize but that was basically the main idea of the young mans tweet. Since when did having darker skin make you dirty? I dont understand. How can the level of flith be determined by skin complexion ? And the sadder the question is, why did he think it was okay to say that? Has this society done soo much damage to the black community that our young women only think they can be beautiful with a head full of track and makeup that makes you appear lighter? What have we been subjected to and why hasn't anyone broken free of this cycle? More importantly, why am I one of maybe five people who found his comment to be really disturbing. I dont understand. Maybe it's jst me. But I can't conform to society's logic, I dont think tht skin complexion determines someones beauty. I think the character of that persons personality along with a vast list of other things can consider someone beautiful. Light, Dark, Doesn't matter. Think outside the box. DARK is just as BEAUTIFUL or MORE than LIGHT.

Invalid Promises

"You're special" But you said that line to everyone.
"Im making you a promise" Didn't you say that to her?
"You make me happy" So did your ex.
"Ima put you on my blog" Seems like you do tht with everyone.
"Babyyyy, I miss you" You said that to those before me.
"I want you soo bad" But tht was on a photo comment.
"I need you" Like you needed the rest?
"I love you" Now who are you saying tht to since it isn't me?

You said all the lies to me above, and the reason Im calling them lies is because you couldn't of said all the things above to me and numerous people and still mean it. EVERYTHING i said to you was REAL, nothing rehearsed or pre-recorded. It was ALL meant and for YOU. But your broke my trust, I would of said you broke my heart but I never put my all into any male. Just know every word I spoke to you, I never said to different guys. Soo my sincerity to you was always there and can never be question. Soo i hope you had "fun" playing with my emotions because I sure enjoyed being a part of your game..
