The rate of teen smoking has become astronomical within the past year. It's like everywhere look, I either see someone about to skip class to get high, or people posting pictures of them with smoke blowing out their mouth. I'm not judging, nor do I care what people do with their lives...But It's annoying when I see people who have been athletes all their lives or honor roll students getting kicked off teams and failing because they wanna be "cool" and smoke. This post isn't directed at one particular person nor one specific group...If you're taking this to heart, then maybe you need to rethink the value of your actions. People drink, people smoke...I as well as the rest of the world is well aware of this..That's fine, I can careless. The concern comes into play when people start turning into things they aren't. Putting on a "front" for others so that they are still considered "cool." Participating in events they wouldn't of participated in a year ago, becoming a person they would be ashamed of it they looked at themselves from a different perspective. It seems as though sudden music popularity is increasing this phenomenon, artist such as Wiz Khalifa and Yo Gotti who praise the art of smoking are affecting the way of life for many young adults who want to follow and emulate these celebrities. If you want to smoke, who am I to stop or judge you? But do it because you want to, not because you want accreditation from your peers. Not because you want "clout." Be yourself, Be your own person, it's not illegal. .
