"I know a little something about being pissed off"

When one thing makes me mad, it seems like everything after that just goes downnnnn hill. Do any of us know why the smallest thing can trigger some of the largest amounts of rage? Or why trivial misunderstandings can result in fights and even killings? We as humans allow ourselves to get angry over the smallest things that in months probably won't matter anymore. In mere hours even, a situation that made you upset and in your eyes "was the worse thing ever" won't really make a difference. How quickly our emotions can change and be changed by outputs that calm us down instantly. For me, writing is my gateway for directing my anger in a more positive way. For others it's sports, cooking, and even singing. One emotion , one wrong move , can end your life. All the time on the news it's stories on how brother against brother and bestfriends are killing one another. Over property, respect, and even money. The same amount of time it took to pick up that gun, is the same amount of time it could take you to construct your anger into something that wont damage your future. Counting backwards, painting your nails, and pacing are all methods and techniques used for calming people down in stressful situations. Ever heard the saying "you are what you eat?" Well it's a new one "you are what you think." Anger can trigger hormones within the body causing you to get mentally and physically ill. Studies show how built up anger was one of many reasons why one man couldn't cure his cancer. Another side effect of anger is the mental strain it has on the sufferer. Although the angry person may not notice it immediately, over time the anger can be a burden and stroll on the brain leading to suicides and/or homicides. The next time you get really upset do you understand the consequences for how far your anger can take you?
